JOB SUMMARY This Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for all financial aspects of budgeting and forecasting across the book Fairs division.
Position will develop driver-based planning models for both revenue and expenses to assist with translating strategic initiatives to operational activities and to improve the accuracy of the budgets and forecasts.
Working with management, this position will continue to develop and improve the budget and forecast process and will work with field management to help provide direction and guidance for opportunities.
As the company continues to grow, this key position will ensure that processes and models are in place for accurate and meaningful budgets and forecasts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Integral part in the development and completion of the annual operating and capital budgets for the Book Fairs division.
Assist in the development of the annual operating plan presentation.
Develop driver-based planning models that translate strategic initiatives to operational activities Primary point of contact to book Fairs'management team for financial questions and issues coming from the regions and division headquarters.
Work closely with management to determine methods to more effectively and accurately prepare budget and forecast information.
Work with management to determine budget and forecast opportunities.
Develop revenue and expense planning models to assist functional management in accurately planning and allocating resources consistent with the division's financial objectives.
Evaluate performance against forecast and plan on a consistent basis, identifying key drivers of variance.
Work closely with the New York Hyperion team during the forecast and budget process to ensure systems are updating properly and validate that information is moving correctly between the different systems and cubes.
Assist in the development and creation of strategy maps.
Provide regional analytical support.
Maintain confidentiality regarding company programs, activities, records and customer lists.
Qualifications JOB REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
MBA preferred Minimum four (4) years of experience as a Financial Analyst, Business Analyst, or a similar function in a corporate environment is required Extensive experience performing detailed analysis, including cause of change and rate/volume analysis Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with internal business clients in budgeting, forecasting and decision support Advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, v-lookups and goal seek) and ability to extract, compile, analyze and interpret data Hyperion Planning and Essbase experience is strongly desired Experience in a retail, distributor and multi-location network is strongly desired Excellent written and oral communication skills Team-oriented, self-motivated with ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work on assigned tasks and assignments with little supervision and meet all deadlines Innovative and motivated individual interested in developing new models and processes to improve the budget and forecast process JOB PREFERENCES Access or database experience (creating and maintaining tables and queries) Balance Sheet and Cash Flow experience JDE, One World or other ERP systems knowledge CPA, CMA or other business accreditation ABOUT US One of Scholastic's best-known and best-loved businesses is Scholastic Book Fairs, in-school events that bring the joy and excitement of reading right to students.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
